Winter Wonderland PhotosThese winter wonderland photos were all taken in the heart of the Eastern Townships in the Lac Brome area. To set the stage for these photos, we need to tell you about our weather during the 22 days prior to being able to present all these images. In the 11 days prior to December 23rd 2009, we experienced cloud and small amounts of snow every few days. On Dec 23rd we had a full day of sunshine before returning to another 11 more days of cloud. Only this time, a few of those days contained mixed precipitation of freezing rain, light rain and more snow. This mixture of precipitation thoroughly coated all the branches and pine trees. It was very similar to our famous ice storm back in 1998. And the snow that fell almost seemed glued to every branch. Fortunately there were no high winds in our area and the temperature stayed well below zero. The countryside became a “picture postcard”. Many of the local people said it was simply breathtaking. And then the sun came out on Saturday January 9th 2010. All the images in this 6 page gallery are available for sale.
